Stirred Up Soup

My photo
Hi, I'm Mama Soup. I am the home manager for this crazy clan and I have made it my personal mission to record, here on this blog, our attempts at simplifying our life. I am usually wearing an apron and either cooking up some treat or thinking about what I can cook. I also love to paint, jog and drink hot tea. Welcome and thanks for visiting.

Bebe and the vacuum

Bebe really did like the vacuum, even as it styled her hair. She was actually upset when Dada turned the vacuum off. Really, though, have you ever seen a better hairdo?

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

We had a great holiday with Maw, Papa, Lowy and big Sissy. Our morning started early, of course, when we heard the dreaded "thump, thump, thump" of Jonah coming down the stairs. We jumped up to make sure he didn't take apart ALL of the Easter baskets. He was very excited and did immediately tear into his basket.

The monster truck was a big hit, but I think the candy stole the show.

Then dada fixed Easter breakfast of eggs, bacon, and blueberry muffins. The twins had yogurt, fruit and eggs.

Then we all got dressed for church and took some pictures.

After church we came home to find that the Easter Bunny had hidden eggs! Jonah and Sissy searched high and low and actually did find them all! (I remember that there was always that one egg you didn't find until the 4th of July) Then, we hid more and did it again and again and again. Lowy and Bebe watched from the deck.

Elias hung out in the walker.

Jonah LOVED his candy and made sure he kept it organized.

Elias thought that Bebe looked so good in her Easter dress that he would just take a taste.

Great day with the twins

Nathan took Jonah with him to the farm and I had a wonderful day with the twins. I know this will be hard to imagine, but it reminded me of when I didn't have kids. I got my morning coffee, cleaned the kitchen (although there was some screaming) and headed out to Target. We did the Easter shopping, the twins didn't fuss a bit, and then came home to prep dinner. Twins were asleep by 6 pm and I had a glass of wine and read the paper on the back porch.

Currently, the kitchen is clean, all toys picked up and laundry done. What exactly am I saying here? I don't think it's that twins are easy, but rather toddlers are NOT!!!! Yes, I know, I'm in for it in about 18 months. Although, I must say that Jonah has been excellent training and I should have a better idea of what I'm getting into before it smacks me in the face. I love you Jonah.

So, here are some pictures from today.

They got some of those little dissolving treats today that they mush up with their gums and then get them stuck to their clothes. It was the first time they had these and they both loved them. Notice Bebe is actually cross-eyed trying to look at her treat while eating it.

Here they are on the move, kinda. Elias just started doing this. He can not get in this position himself, but if you place him there he can stand for a long time, even taking his hands off and back on.

Bebe: "You show off, try to push me now!"

Bebe: "Pretty sure we didn't go anywhere. What is the point of this again?"

This was Elias after breakfast. It was hard work to steal Bebe's sippy cup.
